Mapbox costs & free tier

Store Locator requires a separate Mapbox account. Mapbox bills the account owner directly according to usage.

Store Locator uses:

  • Mapbox GL JS map loads when a storefront or app page initializes a map.
  • Temporary Geocoding API requests when users search for an address. Autocomplete can create more than one request as the user types.

Current free tier​

At the time of this review, Mapbox lists these monthly free allowances:

  • 50,000 Mapbox GL JS map loads.
  • 100,000 Temporary Geocoding API requests.

The next usage band is currently $5 per 1,000 map loads and $0.75 per 1,000 temporary geocoding requests. Mapbox applies lower unit prices at higher volumes.
